Key Responsibilities
• Perform mechanical assembly of composite and metallic components as per drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures.
• Execute composite assembly, structural bonding, and composite-to-composite, composite-to-metal, and core-to-composite bonding operations.
• Carry out bonding surface preparation including sanding, abrasion, cleaning, degreasing, masking, and surface activation.
• Perform adhesive mixing, application, bond-line control, clamping, curing, and other bonding process requirements.
• Perform mechanical fastening operations including drilling, reaming, riveting, inserts, nuts, bolts, and hardware installation.
• Conduct component alignment, fitment, trimming, sanding, deburring, dimensional checks, and finishing using appropriate tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
• Inspect assemblies and bonded joints for defects such as gaps, voids, contamination, misalignment, delamination, cracks, and improper fitment; support rework and troubleshooting.
• Interpret drawings and specifications while maintaining FOD, cleanliness, quality, safety, and process requirements, and coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams to resolve issues.
Qualifications
• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Aerospace, Production, Automobile, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, aerospace assembly, composite assembly, bonding, or UAV/drone manufacturing.
• Candidates with practical experience in composite-to-metal bonding and structural adhesive bonding will be preferred.
Skills & Expertise
• Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical and composite assembly and bonding.
• Good understanding of surface preparation, adhesives, primers, solvents, and bonding processes.
• Proficient in using hand/power tools, drilling tools, measuring instruments, and assembly fixtures.
• Ability to read drawings, perform accurate fitment, alignment, drilling, riveting, and fastening.
• Good awareness of assembly defects, dimensional requirements, FOD, cleanliness, safety, and quality procedures.
